GGFIT Additional Information

If there is anything that you need to know that is not on this page, please ask! ggfit@geol.sc.edu. If you need to contact Dr. Wilson, her office number is (803) 777-1240.

Paperwork

Before camp starts, our sponsors have some forms:

  1. The National Center for Women and IT Consent and Release form: available soon. Our Program ID is 5019.
  2. Health Forms. Please fill out the Health History Form and the Treatment Agreement.
  3. The University of South Carolina Liability and Waiver form.

You will receive these from the University's Continuing Education and Conferences (CEC) program after you have registered for the camp. You will return them to CEC or bring them to camp the first day.

Financial Aid

We want everyone to get a chance to learn with us. If cost could keep your daughter from coming to camp, please fill out the financial assistance form by April 14. Decisions will be made April 17. Later applications will be considered if aid is still available, with decisions made within 5 business days.

Maps

Your pickup and drop-off location is here. We will sign the kids in on the sidewalk every morning. We will also have signs inside leading to EWS 209, so you will be able to find us if you need us or if you just want to visit. (EWS is the crossbar of the "H" in the CLS-EWS-PSC complex. If you get to a room 209 that does not have a summer camp in it, you are in CLS or PSC. Go back to the elevators, make a 90-degree turn and try again!)

Snacks

Campers are welcome to bring snacks for the mid-morning break. The last day we will have a party (with cake!) to celebrate the creativity and accomplishments of our campers!

Special Needs

Our camp is not specifically designed to accommodate special needs, but we have certainly had kids with special needs do wonderfully in the camp. Please call Dr. Wilson at (803) 777-1240 for help deciding if the camp is right for your daughter.

Camp Rules

We look forward to a positive relationship with each camper and her parents/guardians. Campers and their parents/guardians agree to comply with the USC Code of Conduct; avoid actions that interfere with the camp's operation (including behavior that inhibits learning by other campers); and avoid actions that threaten the safety of the camper, other campers, or camp staff.

Tax ID Number

Our Tax ID number is 57-0967350 (The South Carolina Research Foundation).
